About this deal

For anyone who wants a barbecue that they can use pretty much out of the box, the Weber Traveler, you can fire up the burner 10 minutes after opening it up. It’s simple to use, and easy to clean. However, if you are an expert griller who likes to cook different foods at different temperatures, the single burner may not be for you - but we found it cooked a variety of foods very well all at the same temperature. Expert grill chefs may find the one burner too restricting, as you can’t control different parts of the grill to suit different foodstuffs, but if you're after a simple barbecue grill, this is it. American grill company Weber pretty much rules supreme in the BBQ world, and its gas BBQs are undoubtedly the gold standard. While some might wince at the price, investing in a Weber BBQ is a smart move if you’re serious about high-performance grilling and want a model that will last summer after summer without showing its age. Antonio Lexerot, Salt Lake City, is a member of a Utah outdoors club. He has catered their bi-annual summer camp for more than a decade – grilling food for dozens of people at a time. He owns several different types of grills, including charcoal, smokers, gas and infrared models. Dual-level stainless steel sear plates help to distribute heat evenly across the grill for perfect cooking every time. The addition of the Accu-probe thermometer on the easy lift lid also helps with the cooking process. Extras like infrared grills and a rotisserie make this a real top-end performer. This isn't the cheapest grill of its size out there, but when you consider that lifetime warranty, it's be worth the cost.

Key Specs – Fuel type: Propane; Number of burners: 2; Cooking area: 70 x 34.5cm; Dimensions (WDH): 122 x 53 x 96.5cm; Weight: 22.6kgIf you wish to return your item to Robert Dyas, you can do so by the following method: 1. Request a Collection via Robert Dyas Customer Services If you’re looking for something more substantial than a tabletop gas BBQ but are still keen to save space, this foldable model might be just what you’re looking for. With two burners, an impressively sized grill and two fold-out side trays for serving, it’s ideal for feeding a group. Independently controlled burners mean you have precise control over the temperature, and its solid metal body makes it great at heat retention if you’re cooking with the lid down. The only real downside to gas BBQs – and some diehard BBQers will tell you it’s a big one – is that you miss out on that traditional charred, smokey taste. Flavoured smoking woods and charcoals are rising in popularity for solid-fuel grills, and while you can buy smoker boxes to use with gas, they won’t work for every model and don’t add quite as much flavour. The key to being at the top of your grill game is achieving an even cooking pattern. This will help you to avoid meat that is charred on the outside, but raw inside. Some grills have features to promote even heat distribution, offering a much smoother cooking experience for those on chef duty. Reduced to the essentials, OUTDOOR CHEF is synonymous with a timeless, clear, minimalist design. Awards such as the iF Design Award 2020 and the German Design Award 2021 strengthen this claim.

A removable ash catcher and stainless steel grill enables easy cleaning, and with a 53 cm diameter cooking grill, it is perfect for entertaining this summer. However, not all grillers make gas grills their first choice. Jesse Johnson of the Utah BBQ Association is a pitmaster for a competitive BBQ team. At the time of publication, he owned 14 grills. He generally uses wood-burning grills because they create the Maillard reaction, which imparts more flavor to your meat. But he will use gas grills to create a reverse sear on steaks. Please note some larger products are delivered to kerb-side (the street outside your home), it is at the drivers discretion if they can deliver the item to another location on the property. Key Specs – Fuel type: LPG; Number of burners: 3; Cooking area: 68 x 48cm; Dimensions (WDH): 150 x 74 x 120cm; Weight: 75kg Conveniently compact-sized– Boasting a classic design with compact dimensions, this Grill Chef Kettle Barbecue is ideal for all sizes of garden. Versatile cooking–The enamelled lid and fire bowl makes it perfect for traditional direct cooking, with integrated charcoal dividers for indirect cooking and smoking.

As well as being the undisputed king of personal grills, George Foreman has also put his name to a series of gas BBQs that are just as stylish and affordable as their smaller siblings. This model features three individual burners and an impressively spacious cooking area, allowing you to have up to ten portions on the go at once. There’s also an integrated thermometer, which lets you keep control of the temperature of each individual cooking zone. So whether you’re whipping up burgers, steaks, fish or veggie kebabs, you can ensure perfect temperatures throughout. The Weber Traveler is a quality product - there’s no doubt about it. That quality also means it is quite heavy, but it is reasonably portable thanks to its folding function that turns it into a trolley with wheels. You’ll need quite a big trunk to carry it in if you’re heading out or going camping, but it is also ideal to wheel in and out of a garage for al fresco cooking in your yard at home. Depending on the size of your household, and how often you enjoy hosting, consider how much room you need for grilling. Some options will happily house three to eight burgers at a time which is plenty for most families, but if you regularly entertain in the summer months then a grill with room for 12 burgers might be better suited. Coming in at a third of the price of the premium, bigger gas grills, this is a great choice if you need to watch how much you’re spending but still want a quality product. The only thing missing is a side burner, so you’ll have to cook up your beans and corn indoors if they are regular parts of your barbecue menu. But it’s not a deal-breaker by any means. Those who love it praise the number of things it can cook –“Homemade tortillas are excellent. Pizza is next level. Stir fry is a blast”– as well as its looks. Some find it difficult to clean, while others say it’s easy, so your mileage may vary, but the steel cooking surface does seem to have some hot spots.Yet that's not all, the quality of the build can also vary massively and this is where your lifetime will vary. It's worth noting the brands that charge more but also offer a far longer warranty or guarantee period than the cheaper competition. Spread the cost over the expected lifetime and you may find that a better quality model actually costs you the same or less per year. And that's not even taking into consideration the repair costs of keeping a cheaper model up and running.
